Off to Langkawi

My father in law has been visiting for the last three days. Despite my worry, so far it's going quite well; so far we have toured our neighborhood; gone for a hike in the rainforest; visited Singapore'e unique Night Safari; visited two museums (the National Museum of Singapore and one about Singapore's WW2 experience: they were occupied by the Japanese and it was terrible); and gone to the Botanic Garden.

He wanted to take a side trip, so clever B planned a weekend trip to the island of Langkawi, which is a tropical island with white sand beaches, coral reefs, pristine jungle and traditional Malay villages. It will be my first time to Malaysia. We are staying at a fancy hotel (the one in the picture), and the island is duty free (meaning alcohol is not expensive, unlike Singapore), so I am looking forward to lots of cocktails, possibly snorkeling, and lazy time on the beach. We'll be leaving Friday night (the 21st).
