Singaporean Style

The amusing video Gangnam Style has been making the rounds lately. But I like this one better:



If you want to get an idea of what typical (young) Singaporeans are like, you should watch this video (obviously shot here: I recognize all the locations since Singapore is quite small). The clothes, the hairstyles, the different ethnic groups, the awkwardness: it's all there. The lyrics are in Singlish (the version of English locals speak: it's really English but the accent/vocabulary take some getting used to), so I recommend turning on the captions. Then you will also get insight into what Singaporeans think about (food; money; dislike of the government; ambivalence about the racial/ethnic diversity; ambivalence about being Singaporean at all, among other things). Very funny.
